The Strictly Rhythms series is all about one individual’s vision of Strictly Rhythm, their personal choices of original tracks, reworks and remixes. Strictly Rhythms 9 breaks into a whole new attitude with DJs, producers and scenesters Wax Motif and Neoteric. Their novel and unselfish vision was to act more as curators by spreading the love to their entire extended crew of fellow producers. The result is an incredible collection of 27 classics (old and new) remixed by 25 different remixers. Yes, every track is a brand new re-edit, rework or remix, from Monkey Safari’s brilliant take on Chocolate Puma and Bingo Players’ Touch Me to Yolanda Be Cool’s remix of Erick Morillo’s Jazz it Up. Armand Van Helden, Roger Sanchez and Kenny Dope are among the original producers represented, but this isn’t about the same old favourites. I’m very proud to introduce the first release on my label, Main Course! Here we unveil our first release from enigmatic band The Slow Waves. Recently acclaimed for their remix work for the likes of Crookers, Mary Epworth, and The Young Empires, this 2 track release is their first outing on the public stage. The Slow Waves’ sound is an ever evolving, synth-laden voyage taking listeners from the edge of the beach, to the edge of the galaxy. Underbelly evokes imagery of an cinematic night drive into the infinite, lead by a sinister bassline and arpeggios. Undertow feels just as at home on your playlist, as it would during the emotional climax of a movie. It’s the sound of bliss and wonderment; a minimal driving drum pattern with constantly building guitars and synths. Both Underbelly and Undertow are sublime, stirring pieces of mood music, and we are very proud to introduce you to the sounds of The Slow Waves.

Hey hey family. I have been laying a bit low on the DJ tip, as myself and Wax Motif have been preparing a pretty massive compilation thats taking a bunch of our time. Plus we’ve got this Go Deep remix EP dropping in 2 weeks (more info soon), and another new original we’re super excited about, and working to find the right vocalist for. And of course, developing Main Course has taken so much time, BUT ITS HERE!!!

The good news, its time to get back to the business of making the people dance. My crates are loaded with some serious weapons, and the next 3 week im taking no prisoners.

I know you haven’t heard much from me recently. I’ve been working on building up other projects, more related to the business side of things, than on the DJ tip. One of those big projects is Main Course!

And so it begins. It’s been a long time in the making, but we are finally ready to show ourselves to the world. For so many years, I have worked with, and for others. For their label, the career or otherwise. I’ve learned a great deal, and helped out many along the way. Now it’s time to start working towards one focused and common goal. That goal is Main Course, and there are a bunch of services we offer, and angles we attack from. Check out our About page for more information. If what you read interests you, please get in touch. Hello Hello! I’m finally back in Berlin after some time in the US and Canada, kissing babies and seeing family. One of the highlights had to be guesting on my favourite podcast, Tall Tales, hosted by dude of dudes Them Jeans (Jason Stewart). I imagined a deep talk full of amazing stories and witty anecdotes. I asked my friend Brendan to join us, as he’s hilarious, got stories for days, and is a true music head – it all seemed so perfect in my head. Don’t get me wrong, it was still really cool, but well, i’ll let the description below explain how it went…

Nikki and I sit down with star of stage and screen Brendan Sexton, a young actor well known for such roles as Empire Records, Black Hawk Down, and most recently TV’s The Killing. Also joined by Jeremiah, aka Neoteric, a DJ and producer. We start off the show of course with rape chats, move into Brendan’s acting career, skype sex, his down-low social networking, Nikki’s love for the show Intervention, and why I can’t do mushrooms anymore. Recommended listening for fans of uncomfortable podcasts.

Alrighty! My dude Astronomar has been killin it for a while now. Remember ‘Had to Move On’ from Turned on Vol 2? We’re so glad to see this EP come to light, as it was a long time in the making. I A&R’d this release and brought it to my good friends at Top Billin’, and the response has been amazing – Style of Eye even called it “The best release on Top Billin yet!”. Yes! And it all started when Mar sent me this idea which I really liked. I messed around, added a few things, sprinkled some drums and bam, ‘Playhouse’ was born. Got a bunch of Soundcloud love on it, but now it’s finally out, and the folks at Gotta Dance Dirty have posted it, check below for free DL! After that, cop the whole EP on Beatport!
