Sunday I departed for Sunny LA and settled into my hotel. Met up with Switch and Natlie for some great Indian Food and talked business. Dubsided is comin back strong! Then linked with the homies and headed to LAX for their 2 year anniversary party. IT GOT WILD! Everyone was there, Crookers, Jesse from MSTRKFT, Busy P, So Me, Sebastian, DJ Falcon and so many more. Monday mornin I’ma be on Cobrasnake…

haha worst picture ever, but it was THAT fun!

After that we hit up an after party at some house i don’t remember. Thanks to (Thee) Mike B for the ride, hospitality, and truly being THE dude! We’ll have him up to Canada early next year, and we’re also going to work on a mix. Expect somethin rad!

Monday I pretty much chilled. Crookers and Switch were working in the studio on some joints, hyped to hear what comes out of that. Stayed watchin CNN and pre-election coverage, and eating the best Mexican food from Cactus. Only one more day!

Tuesday was definitely a highlight of the trip! Glued on CNN and got a bit choked up when they announced Obama had won! Everyone was screaming and honking down the street, and people were ready to PARTY that night! That night I played at Cinespace for Dim Mak Tuesdays with Dan-Oh and Them Jeans, Mike B, Falcon and Friendly Fires!

Heres a great video from that night..Mike B and Falcon, and the crowd going wild for Obama! Shouts to Glen for the Video!

Wednesday mornin I was up on a cobrasnake, although with a better picture this time!

I should also mention DAFT PUNK (!!!!!!!) were in attendance, as was Gaspard from Justice, JFK from MSTRKFT and many others. Wowww. After the show we went to this Thai Restaurant and drank beer from mugs, and ate some great food. Errrybody was there. I had to get my token pic with AM!

Wednesday morning was rough!! Slept in late, watched the analysts analyze the win, and got ready to head to Riverside with my dude N-Squared, Paul and some friends from Corona for this party called Avenue.  It was an 18+ thing, but the kids were wildin! I played well and even had the bouncers wildin out. Looking forward to heading back. Shouts to Steven and Sherri!

Thursday was another big day. I was getting ready to play The Heist, which is another 18+ party with 1500+ kids EACH WEEK. Its in a massive venue called Florentine gardens, and is one of the craziest parties i’ve ever experienced! I played nooothin but bangers, and the kids ate it up! It was a bit daunting once i started to play but the energy was like nothing else. Truly one of those gigs that you ‘live for’. Shouts to Hyphy Crunk!

Heres a pic that doesnt even come close to doing the party justice..

Shouts to (thee) Mike B and Steve1der for rollin through!

aaand heres a short clip panning the crowd…

From there Mike, Steve and I headed to Adam 12’s party, where him and J-Rocc were playing. They both DESTROYED it. I’ve heard J-rocc was good but to see him in action was amazing. DJ Lethal was also there, Egon from Stones Throw, and Evil E, Ice-T’s DJ!! Then we hit the late night Fat Buger and crashed out. I love LA!!

Friday we rolled out to Santa Ana to play at Proof Bar again for the Mute97 night. Rolled out with the dude Bryan from Dim Mak and my main man makin that Mozarella, Yoshio from Tokyo! It was a great time as always. Shouts to Ralph and Joseph, they love to get a lush liquored up. N-Squared rocked it with us, and Huggs as well (Sorry about the laptop holmes!). Shouts to Mykal from Fakerich for the hospitality and good times!!

Saturday was one of the main reasons for the trip, it was N-Squareds birthday! We linked up and ate first @ Zip Fusion where I had some surprisingly good sushi (Not better than Vancouver though hehe) and then all the homies rolled through to rock it that night, peep the flyer:

We then hit the Tittsworth after party from 3-6am. Shouts to Waldo and Chris Haycock, and to 1der for the couch! There was a little talk of a Titts/Benzi/Neo tour hehe lets hope that happens!

Sunday I rolled over to link with Thee Mike B, aka my LA savior. Had a shower and went on the internets (such simple things are so appreciated on the road), and we took in the Lakers game with the aforementioned Glen. Lakers won in a blow out! I think they are the team to beat this year, at least in the West. Then Mike had to roll by AM’s to pick up some art they bought for the club and said I could roll with as he needed some help with the giant So Me piece they bought! Now I have been to LA a few times but never really did the touristy shit, the star maps and all that, but I was geeked rolling through the hills of Beverly en route to AMs. I gotta say homeboy is living the dream, and is truly an inspiration. On top of that dude is maaaad cool. Of course I didnt want to talk to him about the accident or anything too contrived, I just took it all in. We then loaded this piece into Mikes truck and installed it in the club. It looked great and it really tied the room together. ;)

So Me peice installed at LAX

The night was amazing. Sammy Bananas played a nice set, then AM came on and did his thing. Followed by the legend, the Kiiiiiid Caaaaprrriiiii!!!. Dude straight up MURDERED IT! Me and Morse Code were wildin out on some “DID HE REALLY JUST PLAY 2 BLACK ROB SONGS!!!”. Like WHOA!
AM was feelin it!

After a long night of great music, we hit the craziest Japanese ‘have everything’ store. They had at least 30 types of pre-made sandwhiches, mad sushi, dozens of drink choices, fresh fruit, potato salad, ..basically EVERYTHING you could ever want, especially at 4am. I wish I could remember the name because this place would take over Vancouver! Then I hit the airport and bid farewell to catch my red eye to Toronto.

the 10th-13th was all about relaxing and spending time with my family. It was my brothers birthday on the 11th, and my sisters on the 12th. We got together for some meals and reminiscing. Couldnt ask for a better week.

Thursday was a big night as I opened for Drop the Lime at Up on Carling. Dude is tops on my list for sure. Sadly the turnout wasnt spectacular, and I had to play it safe to keep the beckies into it but you can’t win em all. It was good to chop it up with Luca. Shouts to my dude Gingy for linking it up, Rasheed at Up On Carling, and Sta for rollin through! Friday i was back at Up on Carling with the dude DJ Flash. Big up! Great times! this is kinda how the night was..haha

Saturday London got hit with a bunch of snow and the bus to Toronto took FOREVERRRR..but it was well worth it! Rolled into town and hit up Keith from Auto-Erotique’s (fmr VNDLSM) place, had some pre drinks with pretty womens, YourBoyBrian, Gingy and some others and rolled down to Wrongbar where myself, Keith and Nasty Nav. The weather was rotten, but the club was packed full of good homies, and it WENT OFF! Major thanks to Diggy and Dmoney, Nav and Keith for making this such a great night! I think it was my best Toronto gig yet, and met alot of great people.

This is the kinda night it was…

The next morning I somehow woke up at 11:30 to make it to the Raptors game. Not just any, but Raptors vs Heat! My Team! D-Wade had an amazing game but CB-4 and the Raps took it by 10. Tom Wrecks came through with the ill lower bowl tickets for $50, so I had to be there. Make sure you check for his Love Lockdown remix on the new Benzi x Plain Pat Mixtape! My boys 4Korners are the DJs for the Raptors, and they are up on the stands, on the mic and screens, and KILLIN it on the decks. They even played one of my tracks, and one of Tom’s. So crazy to hear them in a giant arena for 20,000 people!

Here are some pics:

Then hopped a plane that night back to Vancouver where I’ve been nursing my liver back to health and catching up on sleep. Thanks to EVERYONE i met along my way, friends old and new there are too many to thank here but you all made my trip amazing!

Now back to hometown biz, we have Thunderheist in Whistler on Saturday! Going to be a sweaty sweatfest!
