Well, just got back from some gigs in Ontario. First stop was Hamilton, where 540 came through at Rokbar. Big up to Digi Snail Geoff for havin me! Friday I hit Elixir in club in Kingston, shout out to the Fraggle Rock DJs Yale and Doug. It was a slow night, so I didnt play my ‘normal’ set, but I figured why not play some dancefloor friendly jams for the people who were there. I played on a 57 and recorded my set, while I ingested about 30 fine beverages – thus, its not ‘perfect’ but I think I hold it down damn well on that devil’s sauce! Mostly mashups, uptempo dance stuff, and general club joints. Nothing too new or anything but if you’re lookin for something to listen to, check it out. DJ Neoteric – Live @ Elixir (Kingston) July 31st, 2009

Sunday I played at The Drake for the D-Money long weekend bash, alongside Jokers of the Scene’s DJ Booth, and Nacho Lovers Scott Seewhale, and celebrated Lucie Tic’s birthday, who played a rad set as well! It was a great party, I played mostly demos and “shit that aint out yet” haha, and it was really well recieved, as I got SO many comments after, including heaps of praise from the other DJs and Diggy the Don. Felt really fuckin good. Anyways…

Back in Vancouver for a day before we head out to the INFAMOUS Shambhala Music festival. This is one of the craziest festivals in the world! Imagine 10-15,000 crazy partiers in the middle of nowhere, in the mountains, on a river, going wild for 4 days straight on 5 stages! We’re (Smoke & Mirrors) playing the Fractal Forest on Friday (6am), after Boy 8 Bit, and will be joined by our good homies Smalltown DJs, along with Jack Beats, Treasure Fingers, AC Slater, Kill The Noise, Craze, Wax Romeo and tons more im forgetting now. But the big news is we formed like voltron with Smalltown Romeo for a crazy mix, that we’ll have copies of at the festival and will post download links after the weekend! Check back for that soon!
